David Edwards is Professor of the Practice of Idea Translation in the John A Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University. A pioneer of inhaled drug delivery, founder of Advanced Inhalation Research and Pulmatrix, David has more recently explored future of food delivery, founding Incredible Foods and his new olfaction platform company Sensory Cloud. An inventor and entrepreneur, David has actively developed new innovation environments where art and science promote social justice and commercial innovation, including Le Laboratoire (Paris, Cambridge), and his innovation restaurant in Cambridge USA Cafe ArtScience, which opens in 2020 in New York City. David is co-founder of the World Frontiers Forum and the Frontier Art Prize, and a member of the US and French National Academies of Engineering, and of the US National Academy of Inventors. He is an author of many books of fiction and nonfiction in French and English, including his most recent book, Creating Things That Matter (Holt 2018), winner of the 2018 Nautilus Book Award. For his work in culture and writing he was elected by the French Ministry of Culture as Chevalier des art et des lettres.
