Christine Allen is a Professor and the GSK Chair in Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery in the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto. She has served in senior leadership roles in her Faculty including Associate Dean Academic, Associate Dean Graduate Education and most recently Interim Dean (2018-2019). Her research is focused on the design and development of new materials and technologies for the delivery of drugs and contrast agents. She is committed to the commercialization of research, with a number of innovations moving towards clinical development. She is co-founder and President of Nanovista Inc., developing technology for Pendant Bio Inc., and Chief Scientific Officer at Avicanna Inc. She is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Controlled Release, President Elect of CSPS and a member of the Governing Council of NSERC. Christine is a member of the Toronto Initiative for Diversity and Excellence, an unconscious bias facilitator and a strong advocate for women in science.
