M.B. Delgado Charro graduated in Pharmacy and received a PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology (University of Santiago de Compostela), she was a MEC-Fulbright fellow & visiting Assistant Professor at the School of Pharmacy, UCSF (1991-1993). She has worked as an academic at the Universities of Santiago de Compostela and Geneva, and since 20024, at the University of Bath where she is currently a Reader. She was a National Expert on Secondment at the European Medicines Agency (10/2015-9/2016) where she worked in business intelligence in drug development and Road-to-Market analysis. Her research focuses on transdermal and topical drug delivery; developing optimized methods to treat nail diseases (onychomycosis and psoriasis), non-invasive sampling for drug monitoring and pharmacokinetics, and developing models to predict chemicals accumulation into the skin, skin absorption and bioequivalence assessment. Funders include the Leo Foundation, the US-FDA, the Parkinson’s Disease Society UK, MRC, Swiss National Foundation, NHS-NIC and pharmaceutical companies.
