There is a general consensus that drug-resistant microorganisms have emerged as a result of the inappropriate over use of antimicrobial agents. Drug delivery can combat this by exploiting a range of mechanisms including reducing dose frequency and by enhancing delivery and targeting. During this session, speakers will consider the challenges we face in tackling antimicrobial resistance and outline strategies they have been developing. The aim of this session is to stimulate new strategies and research that addresses the challenge of antibiotic resistance.
