The historical success of the pharmaceutical industry has been attributed to the use of the scientific methodologies to design molecules. This includes structural activity relationships that not only optimize for selectivity and potency but also the physicochemical properties that translate into conventional formulation platforms. In this session, the speakers will discuss a shift that is occurring within discovery towards different types of molecule (i.e. beyond the rule of 5 molecules, PROTEC, peptides, nucleic acids and CRISPr CAS9) and more importantly the pre-formulation needs required to advance candidates to the clinic.
