Biotherapeutics like proteins, peptides, antibodies, or nucleic acids are very promising for treating disorders and diseases like cancers. They are usually more potent and specific than traditional chemodrugs. However, these biomacromolecules are generally fragile, prone to denaturation or enzymatic degradation, and difficult to enter the target cells, leading to the low bioavailability. How to transport these biomacromolecules to the target sites/cells is one of biggest challenges. This session presents the recent development on the design of the delivery systems for biomacromolecules.
